Personal Trainer/Instructor
Why I got started in the fitness world:
I enjoyed sports at the YMCA growing up, however I was overweight. When I went to college I wanted to be a physical therapist. I enjoyed my first anatomy and exercise physiology class so much that I changed my major to Kinesiology and Nutrition. As I learned more about the mechanics and chemistry of the human body, I started running and working out. After seeing results with a new healthy lifestyle, I was hooked on exercise forever.
Why I am still involved in the fitness industry:
I believe being healthy is an everyday choice. I know how great I feel when I achieve my goals and I want to help others achieve theirs! When I help someone achieve their goals, I feel like I have achieved a goal too! Americans are growing more and more overweight. This national problem is so sad, and it can be changed, ONE STEP AT A TIME! I can’t imagine doing anything else that would help people create new healthy habits for the rest of their lives!
Other interests:
I love spending time with my husband and son in the great outdoors with our two dogs. I also enjoy weight training and running marathons. My goals are working towards the Boston Marathon, the IRONMAN triathlon and climbing Mount Rainier.
